Based upon research and watching videos on the transformation women go through with the use of make-up, the purpose of the shopping bag is to play with the viewers eyes. Using kinetic handles and two sets of eyes, one realistic and one illustrated, the use of mechanical hands purposely plays with the viewers eyes just as make-up does in a freakishly way.
